Christmas did arrive here too. Decorations have been in place for a week. Gifts have been wrapped (which is extremely unusual as I normally panic wrap on the night of 23rd). Christmas pastries have been made (the traditional Finnish ones with plum jam). Ginger bread cookies are still yet to be done. Later today. Gingerbread cookies have been made. I still need to do some cleaning. This year I'm not going to stress about food. I'm not making potato, carrot or swede casseroles. No ham this year. I'm still miffed about last years ham fiasco. We're having salmon instead. But this is how we go this year's Christmas Eve. My husband is the cook for Christmas Day with his turkey and other goodies.
Tama kaitaliina on isoisoaitini tekema vanhemmilleni jouluksi 1975. Toisessa paassa on kirjailtuna isan ja aidin etunimien kirjaimet. Ihana aarre, jonka olen saanut muutama vuosi sitten lahjaksi.
This runner was made by my great grandmother for my parents in 1975. Other end has my parents initials. This is such a special treasure which I've gotten as a gift from my mother few years back.
Porokokelma kasvaa vuosittain aina yhdella.
My reindeer collection grows with one every year.
Tassa oli pieni kurkkaus milta meidan joulu nayttaa.
Here was a small glimpse of what our Christmas looks like.
