Project 365 - week 2

Aika tuntuu valuvan kasista ihan kokonaan taas. Olen editoinut kuvia. En niinkaan ottanut niita. Yrittanyt paasta kaikenmoisten asioiden kanssa sinuiksi ja pitaa arjenjuoksun langat kasissa. Jotenkin se on tuntunut aika haastavalta. Tassa 2. viikon kuvat.  (Olen pitanyt sellaista saantoa tassa projektissa etta vaikka en ottaisikaan ihan joka paiva kuvaa niin sina paivana editoiduista ainakin otan yhden.)

Time seems to slip away from my hands completely. I've been editing pictures more than taking them. I've tried to coexist with all kinds of issues and keep the everyday routines running. Somehow it's felt like an overwhelming task. Here's pictures from 2nd week. (I've made this rule for myself that even if I don't take a picture that day a picture that I've edited that day would be just as good.)

Family E.

Minulla oli ilo ja kunnia ottaa kuvat tasta ihanasta perheesta. Mies, joka ei niin kamalasti pitanyt ajatuksesta, saatiin mukaan kun hanen vanhempansa Englannista oli joulua viettamassa taalla ja otettiin tietysti mukaan kuvauksiin. 

I had the pleasure and honour to take pictures of this lovely family. The husband, who was not so keen  on the idea, was sold on it with his parents being here to celebrate Christmas with them and of course they were part of the photo shoot.

Kuvat otettiin tassa ihan meidan talon nurkilla. Meilla on pieni lampi (takalaiset sita jarveksi kutsuvat), jossa viihtyvat niin kanadanhanhet kuin muuttomatkallaan olevat joutsenetkin. Meilla oli tuuria. Molempia oli paikalla ja kun otimme kuvia niin uteliaina tulivat tutkimaan josko meilla olisi ollut heille jotain ruokaa. 

We took the pictures very close to our house. We have a small pond (locals call it a lake), where Canadian geese as well as migrating swans like to stop. We had both as an audience and they were curious enough to come and see if we had any food for them.

Mummo ja vaari olivat aivan ihania ja heilla oli ihan selkeasti pitka onnellinen avioliitto takanaan. 

Nana and Grampy were absolutely wonderful and I could tell they had a long and happy marriage behind them.

Neidit S. ja O. toimivat vuorotellen assistentteina jos tarvittiin heijastinta tai varjoa. Tytot tykkasivat kun saivat olla avustajia ja tuntea itsensa tarkeiksi. Kauniita neitoja molemmat!

Misses S. and O. both acted as my assistants if I needed a reflector or share. The girls liked to help and feel important. Beautiful young ladies both!

Ja nama kaksi kyyhkylaista. Niin onnellisia! :) 

And these two lovebirds. So happy! :)

Project 365 week 1

Aloitin viime vuonna 365 projektin.  Otin joka paiva ainakin yhden kuvan. Valitettavasti heinakuussa projekti keskeytyi pahasti siskoni sydanpysahdyksen takia. Siina ei paljoa kuvien ottamisia mietitty.  Uusinta yritys nyt sitten tana vuonna.  Tassa taman ensimmaisen viikon kuvat. 

I started 365-project last year. I took at least one picture every day. Unfortunately in July the project was interrupted and left off because of my sister's heart failure. At that point I didn't think of taking pictures. So here I am, going for a new try this year. Here's the week 1 pictures.

Jaatyneita helmia / Frozen pearls

Ensimmainen lumimyrsky juuri ennen uutta vuotta. Tai siis ei sita suomalaisittain voi myrskyksi sanoa. Lunta tuli kuitenkin viitisen senttia. Sen jalkeen tuli rantaa ja sitten satoi vetta. Lampotila laski alle nollan. Seuraavana aamuna ennen kuin aurinko lammitti ilman plussan puolelle loysin ulkoota helmia! Kauniita jaatyneita helmia!  

First snow storm of the winter just before new year. Well, a Finn wouldn't describe it as a snow storm. We did get a bout 5cm of snow. After the snow came sleet and then rain. The temperatures went below zero during the night. Next morning before the sun warmed up the air again I found pearls! Beautiful frozen pearls!

Lisaa pipareita / More gingerbread cookies

Tehtiin tyttojen kanssa ennen joulua pipareita. Piparit on meidan herkkua. Ei Daddyn vaan meidan tyttojen. Piparit loppui ja niitahan piti saada lisaa. Ei muuta kuin leivontahommiin. 

We made gingerbread cookies with girls before Christmas. We love gingerbread cookies. Daddy doesn't. Just us girls. The gingerbread cookies were all eaten and we had to have some more. That meant baking business. 

Taikina tuli kaulittua valilla niin hyvin alustaan kiinni ettei pipareita meinattu saada irti. :)

The dough was sometimes rolled so well to the surface that we hardly could get the cookies off the surface.  :)

Kaivettiin esiin kaikki piparimuotit. Jouluisetkin. Muumit mukana myos.

We dug out all cookies cutters. The Christmas ones as well even though Christmas was over. And Moomins of course. 

Muottien sijoittelu kaulitulle taikinalle meinasi aiheuttaa vahan ahdistuskohtauksia varsinkin vanehmmalle neidille. Pikkuneidista homma toimi vallan mainiosti. 

The placement of the cookie cutters on the dough almost created few anxiety attacks.... especially to Big Miss. Little Miss thought it was going swell. 

Voitte hyvin kuvitella etta lopputuloksena oli kaksi jauhojen peitossa olevaa neitia. :) Mutta kivaa oli. Pipareiden paistaminen jai minulle kun itse leipurit havisivat leikkeihinsa. 

Hyvaa uutta vuotta kaikille!

You can well imagine that the end result was two flour covered little ladies. :) But we all had fun. The actual baking was left for me while the bakers themselves disappeared to play.

Marmen viimeiset / Last of Marme

Meinasi unohtua pistaa loput tonttuneiti Marme Laadidaadin jutuista tanne. Eli akkia ennen kuin vuosi vaihtuu! Aikamoinen kuvatulva tulossa mutta koittakaa kestaa. 

I almost forgot to post here the last of elf miss Marme Laadidaadi's antics. So quickly before the year changes! Quite a flood of pictures coming but try to manage.

Marmehan lahtee takaisin Korvatunturille aina aaton aaton jalkeen eika palaa jouluaattona, koska silloin pukki saapuu. Ensi vuoteen siis Marme!

Marme left back for Korvatunturi  after the 23rd and didn't return on Christmas Eve, as that's when Santa comes. Until next year Marme!
