Ilman kuvia ilmoitettakoon etta muutto on onnistuneesti takana. LOMA LOMA LOMA!
Without pictures I'm announcing that the move is successfully over. We are now in our new OWN house. We've been cleaning at the old place and unpacking at this end frantically. Tomorrow I should start packing for our holiday in Florida. Wake up call on Sat morning is little after 5am in order to get our flight. Oh yes! HOLIDAY HOLIDAY HOLIDAY!

Monster Mash
Isomman neidin koululla pidettiin perjantaina Monster Mash. Tunnelma oli aika tiivis ja korviahuumaava. Lapsilla oli kuitenkin hauskaa. Tassa vahan kuvatunnelmia.
They had a Monster Mash party at the school of Big Miss. The atmosphere was quite close and loud. The children were having fun. Here's some pictures.

Lahtolaskenta / Countdown
Paivat hupenee. Muutto lahestyy. Viela on paljon tekemista. Keittiokin on melkein kokonaan pakattu. Vahiin kay ennen kuin loppuu.
Tytot kavivat lauantaina naapurin tyton 4-vuotis synttareilla. Ne olikin aikamoinen tapaus. Kirjottelen siita kuvien kera myohemmin.
Paasimme pikaisesti myos kaymaan talolla mittailemassa paria asiaa. Vielakaan ei tunnu kamalan todelliselta tama asia. Joskos ensi viikolla maanantaina kun avaimet on kadessa. :D
Meilla olikin pitka viikonloppu koulun suhteen. Maanantaina oli Columbus-day, joka on vapaa koulusta. Tiistaina oli opettajien koulutuspaiva eli vasta tanaan alkoi tama kouluviikko. Kovin lyhyeksi jaa tama viikko. Huomenna aamulla kayn tapaamassa opettajaa arviointikeskustelujen merkeissa. Sitten on balettia iltapaivasta.
Saastan teidat laatikkokuvilta. Niissa ei ole kauheasti katseltavaa. Ehka viela ennen muuttomiesten tuloa napsin kuvat kaikista laatikoista. :D
The number of days is getting less. The move is getting closer. Lots to do still. Packing is going well and I'm not panicking about it. Big Miss thinks there's no way of getting everything packed before the movers come next Tuesday. The chaos might be quite overwhelming in child's eyes. But everything is OK. :) We spent most of the weekend in the basement and garage getting those ready. Kitchen is nearly all packed (except essentials).
The girls got to celebrate our neighbour's girl's 4th birthday on Saturday. Quite an occasion. I'll make a post of that party with pictures later.
We also got to visit the house quickly to measure few things. It's still doesn't feel real that we're going to be living in there. Maybe next Monday when we get the keys. :D
We had a long weekend in terms of not having school of Monday and Tuesday because of Columbus-day and teachers' training day. It's going to be very short school week. Tomorrow morning I'll meet the teacher in an evaluation meeting. The we have ballet in the afternoon.
I'm sparing you from the box pictures. Not much to see in those. Maybe before the movers come I'll get pictures of all the boxes. :D

Pakkaajan huilihetki / Little break from the packing
Ah ihanaaa! Sain istahtaa hetkeksi. Koko paiva tahan mennessa onkin mennyt laatikoitten keskella pakkaillessa yhta sun toista. Nyt on hetken huili kera teen ja viimisen palan marjatorttua, jonka Suomeen muuttanut ystavani toi keskiviikkona tullessaan.
Olen kovin tyytyvainen siihen etta ylakerta on tyttojen vaatteita ja sangyssa olevia petivaatteita lukuunottamatta nyt pakattu. Vierashuone on paketissa. Miehen toimisto on 90% paketissa. Ulkovaatteet, kengat, talvivaatteet paketissa. Hienot astiat, kynttilat, lyhdyt paketissa. Olohuoneessa olleet kirjat, kuvat paketissa. Askartelutavarat, kankaat, langat paketissa. Jaljella on varsinaisesti kaikkien vaatteet, keittio, siivoustavarat, kylpparit, kellari ja autotalli.
Voitte vaan kuvitella tata tavaramaaraa.
Oh how wonderful! I got a chance to sit down for a moment. All day so far I've been spending amongst boxes packing our belongings. Now a small moment with some tea and last piece of the berry tart our friends (the ones who moved back to Finland yesterday) brought with them.
I'm very happy with what I've done so far. Upstairs is packed except for girls clothes and the bedding we're using at the moment. Guest room is packed. My husband's office is 90% packed. All outside, winter clothing and shoes have been packed. Fancy china, candles, lanterns packed. Books, pictures and from the living room packed. All craft stuff, fabrics, yarn packed. We've still got everyone's clothes, kitchen, cleaning/laundry stuff, bathrooms, basement and garage to pack.
You can only imagine the amount of stuff. When we lived in Finland we had bit over 200m2 house, cold storage and garage and when we left Finland our whole life was packed in 237/boxes and numbered wrapped pieces of furniture. I wonder what it is at the moment. About the same I would think. However, I've decided that once we're settled into our new home I'll go through everything and get rid of all of the stuff that we do not need/use anymore.

Etenee / Going forward
Laatikoita joka puolella. Pakkaukset sujuu ihan hyvin talla hetkella ottaen huomioon mina olen tehnyt 90% tahanastisista pakkauksista.
Onneksi sentaan keretaan pikaisesti nakemaan ennen kuin he astuvat koneeseen.
Tulin myoskin tassa pari paivaa sitten siihen tulokseen ettei sukkaa kannata tehda jos miettii muita asioita paassa. Meni nimittain purkuun kun unohdin tyystin kavennukset sukanvarresta. :)
Boxes everywhere. I think it's going pretty good considering that I've done 90% of the packing so far. My husbands back is still not doing so well so he has been taking it careful not to set it off again before our trip. It's taken a lot longer to get better now after he set it off again.
Today I packed my fabrics and yarn and went through a pile of boxes that were either half full or full from our last move.
Today I also had a quick visit from a friend who moves to Finland tomorrow. We haven't seen so many times this past year as they had a baby girl and I seemed to be always busy with something or other but they are now permanently moving to Finland tomorrow. It's sad but I do understand. Their son moved already during the summer time and is now studying in Finland. NOw the rest of the family will follow. At least we were able to see shortly before their departure.
Few days ago I came to the conclusion that if you have lots on your mind you better not make a sock. I had to take nearly the whole thing apart because I forgot the decreasing completely. :)
It was finally a woolly sock day today. Hot tea and warm socks on your feet was lovely.

Plaster Fun Time
Plaster Fun Time on kiva paikka pitaa synttareita. Olimme sellaisilla tanaan heti paivan alkajaisiksi.
Plaster Fun Time is a great place to have birthday parties. We were on one to start the day today. It's a place where you can buy little plaster statues/figurines and they will be painted there. You can finish them off with glitter and either pearl or shiny gloss. You can also arrange birthday parties there or come and have an art session just for fun. You can find painting for different levels.
The girls had fun and even the birthday girl's big brother was there. His choice of figure for painting was a bit different from the girls'. The spread was quite finnish (the mother being a Finn) including small sandwiches, fruit, cheese and crackers and ice cream cake. No pizza, no super sweet cake nor mega big muffins. :)

Huomisestako parempi? / Tomorrow a better day?
Paassa surisee. Takki tyhja. Perjantai.
Pikkuneidin jakamistaidot on koetuksella. Silta ainakin tuntuu.
Tanaan on satanut vetta. Kuvat ovat eiliselta. Syksyn varit loistaa ja auringonvalossa puut nayttavat todella upeilta.
My head is humming. I feel completely drained. It's Friday. Weekend ahead of us...... and packing. Today I didn't manage to pack a single box. I sat by the table most of the day filling insurance papers and registration papers for Big Miss' new school (that was quite a pile of forms I had to fill). Now I need to get copies of umpteen other papers/forms.
So I've been packing things that we do not need. I've tried to get one room or area done at one time so that things will stay together.
Our land lord has been extremely difficult. Nothing goes as they are supposed to go or with the schedule they have been promised. This has been draining our energies having to worry about something that should be easy thing to deal with. None of that. Now we're just trying to manage and get to the day when we are finally leaving for our holiday.
The girls are possibly sensing all the anxiousness, frustration and tiredness in mummy and daddy as their bickering is ever more constant. Sharing is impossible for Little Miss. Everything is her's now, always and forever. At least that's how it feels like at the moment.
It's been raining today. The pictures are from yesterday. Autumn colours are beautiful and the trees look gorgeous in sun light.
