LoreLADY
Kylla siihen sitten reilu kuukausi menikin. Kankaat leikattiin 4.7. Sen jalkeen oli luova mietintatauko. Sitten on ommeltu suurin piirtein sauma kerrallaan. HUH! Mutta valmista tuli. Kesamekko kyseessa. Ei ehka ihan mun tyylinen mutta lupauduin kaveriksi tekemaan toisen paikallisen ompeluintoisen kanssa. Han teki omansa jo vaikka kuinka kauan sitten. Mina hidas hamalainen perassa.
Kyseessa siis Farbenmix kaava LoreLADY. Tuunattiin mekkoa vahan mennessa mutta tuntuu toimivan meidankin lailla. :) Me jatimme siis vetoketjun pois. Vaikka taas menin koon valinnassa ohjeistuksessa annettujen mittojen mukaan olisin voinut tehda sen kokoa pienemmaksi. Nyt tuo ylaosa oli yhta saatamista. Pituus mekossa on vahan polven alapuolelle. En halunnut tehda tayspitkaa.
Valitettavasti minulla ei ole kuvaajaa talossa eli ette saa mallauskuvaa. Henkarissa mekko ei istu ollenkaan natisti. Jouduin teippailemaan mekkoa muotoonsa kun muuten ette olisi saaneet minkaanlaista kasitysta koltusta.
Well, it did take over a month. I cut the fabric on July 4th. After that I had a creative thinking period. After that I've basically been sewing this together one seam at a time with all the interruptions etc. But I finished it. Talking about a sun dress. Maybe not quite my style but I did promise to make one along another sewing enthusiast. She made her's a while back. I've been the slow one.
We're talking about Farbenmix pattern LoreLADY. We modified the dress and made few changes but it still works. :) We didn't put in a zipper. And even though I chose the size according to the measurements given in the pattern I could have made one size smaller. So I had to adjust and adjust and adjust the top quite a bit until it was good. The length of the dress is a little below knee. I didn't want to make the full length dress.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the dress on me. I don't have a photographer in the house. In the coat hanger the dress just droops so I had to use tape a bit so that you would be able to see what the dress actually looks like.

Iltapaiva Bedfordissa / Afternoon in Bedford
Vietimme mukavan ja aurinkoisen iltapaivan Bedfordissa. Puistoilua, jalkapallon peluuta, tammenterhojen istutusta seka jaateloa. Mikas siina ollessa. Ihana ilma. Ei liian kuuma. Kaikki nautittiin kovasti. (Mies otti kuvia isolla kameralla ja mina kannykalla. Nama ovat siis osa minun napsimistani.)
Aamupaivasta ompelin. Niin kuin eilenkin. Melkein valmista on. Muttei kuitenkaan siina kunnossa etta voisi esitella mitaan. Kuinkakohan monta kertaa olen kokeillut vaatteen paalle ja taas vahan tuunannut, ja taas kokeillut? MONTA! Ei mennyt ihan kaavan mukaan hommat. POH! No, ihan kohta on kuitenkin valmista. Kunhan nyt vaan sitten olisi aikaa se tehda loppuun.
We spent a lovely and sunny afternoon in Bedford. Play ground, playing football, planting acorns and ice cream. What could be better than that. Beautiful weather. Not too hot. We all enjoyed ourselves a lot. (My husband was taking pictures with the big camera and I with my phone. So these are some of the ones I took.)
In the morning I sew. Just like yesterday. I'm almost there. But things are not quite so far that I could present the product. I can't even count how many times I've tried the garment on, taken it off, tweaked it a bit, tried it on again and taken it off again.....? MANY time! Things didn't go quite according to plan. But it's very close to being finished. Now I only need the time to get it done.

Sadepaiva / Rainy day
Satoi koko paivan. Kirkastui vasta illaksi. Ei siis paasty ulkoilemaan. Mutta onneksi sentaan nahtiin Suomessa olleet ystavamme (he joiden puppelia hoidettiin). Aamupaiva pyorahti mukavasti heidan seurassa.
Iltapaiva olikin sitten semmoinen ettei olisi viitsinyt pahemmin iltapaivaa olla. Pienempi heti paivaunilta herattyaan jatkoi ihme kitinaa, itkua ja marinaa. Mina yritin ommella ja tyttaret kinastelivat minka kerkesivat. Muutamia hiljaisia ja rauhallisia hetkiakin oli kun tuijoteltiin sateen tuottamia kuplia veden pinnalla (terassilla oli taas "uima-allas").
Ompeluprojektissa nakyy kukkasia. Toiveena olisi saada se viikonloppuna valmiiksi. Tai ainakin hyvin lahelle sita.
It rained all day. Got brighter again only in the evening. No play ground for us today. Luckily we did see our friends who are now back from their Finland trip (the friends' whose bunny we cared for). The morning went quickly in their company.
Afternoon I could have skipped entirely. Little Miss was all whining and crying after she got up from her nap. I tried to sew a little and the Misses argued as much as they possibly could. Few quiet moments found their way into the house when we were staring at the bubbles the rain created on the water surface (the patio was a "swimming pool" again).
My sewing project is full of flowers. I wishing to finish it during the weekend. Or at least get it nearly finished.

Nyt on mita odottaa / Now we got something to wait for
Kolme vuotta sitten kavimme siella ja lokakuun lopulla mennaan taasen. Kaksi viikkoa Floridassa. Ensin Florida Keys ja sitten Disney World! Tuskin maltan odottaa! Tassa vahan tunnelmia edelliselta reissulta, joka oli isomman neidin 4-vuotis syntymapaiva yllatys. Tamakin matka on yllatys tytoille ja toiselle synttari-yllari. (Mukana oli anoppi ja mina odotin pikku neitia.) Kuvien laatu on vahan mita sun sattuu kun nappasin ne FBsta enka severimme syovereista.
Three years ago we went there and at the end of October we will go again. Two weeks in Florida. First Florida Keys and then Disney World! I can hardly wait! Here's some pictures from the previous trip which was the 4th birthday surprise for the Big Miss. This one again will be a surprise trip for the girls and b-day surprise for the bigger one. (My mother-in-law joined us and I was pregnant with Little Miss.) The quality of the pictures are bit this and that as I grabbed them from FB instead of from the depths of our server.
